2 Baptisms

Happy Easter Everyone! Easter here kind of gets grouped in with the rest of the week. Look up "Alfombras y procesiones semana santa". It is kind of interesting.

This week was ok. This is vacation week here and everyone goes to the beach, so there was hardly anyone at home to teach. The street was completely empty of cars and people. It was super quiet the whole week. But, we were able to visit some people and share the easter video on mormon.org.

On Monday, we had the 2 baptisms and it was super cool. When Emili got baptized she went up to her mom, and said, "Mami, I am baptized now. I feel good!" It was really awesome. Jackelin also said that she felt peace and the drive to go forward in her life.

We also started teaching Emili's mom, and she is progressing slowly. We were able to visit Jorge and Maria again, and Jorge told us that he wants to take the next step and start going to a church, but he wants to be sure he won't let the Lord down.

We also went and made pizza with a family in the ward where the sister lived in Italy for a few months. It was really good.

Food
We ate something called Ayote en Miel. Basically it's a green pumpkin that you cook in water with sugar, cinnamon, and other things. It looks kind of scary, but it tastes pretty ok.

  1. Niko would love this story about Italian pizza clear down in Honduras. I hope she always remembers how that felt when she was baptized. Way cool.

Raining fish and 1,000,000 degrees

Heyo! This past week was really good. We were able to teach Jackelin and also Emili. It has been amazing to see the change that has happened in Jackelin's life. When we first found her, she was a little bit beat down by life. But, now she is so happy, and she has a hope for her life that she didn't have before. We are still teaching Jorge and Maria, and they are awesome. Jorge has a desire to change his life, he is just is a little scared that he will mess up and he doesn't want that. But, when we mess up there is always a chance to come back to the correct path. Through the Savior, Jesus Christ, we can truly change, even when we continue to mess up. We can continue to pick ourselves back up, and continue to do what we know is right. Also, this week was the hottest week I have had since being here. The fans have stopped helping, because all they do now is blow hot air on us, and it is worse than not having any fan at all. But, we are finding other ways to cool off.

Done with training

Well, i am officially done with training on Wednesday. Transfers are also that day, so I will probably get a new companion. It is most likely that I will stayin the area that i am in for at least 6 more weeks. This area is awesome,it is in the city, but it is pretty calm compared with other parts or San Pedro Sula that I have seen. The families here are awesome. This past week was pretty good. We almost baptized Lester Garcia this last week, but his friend was in a motorcylce accident so he was with him. We are hoping he will be able to this week, he is a really good guy, and he just wants to follow Christ and make his life better. Tomorrow all of the new missionaries that are coming get here. We get to go and work with them for the day so that will be fun. Looking back on the past 12 weeks, i realized that I have learned a lot. At the beginning walking down the street and talking to complete strangers was really hard for me,and now i hardly even think about it. I have learned a lot of

Pday!!!!

So Wednesdays will be my pday. The first week here has been awesome, and I am so excited to be here. In my district there are 10 of us. 8 Elders and 2 hermanas. Our leader, Elder Pututau comitted to play linebacker at Utah, and he is really cool. He is a huuuugee Tongan. For the most part our classes here are all in Spanish, but our teachers are super good. We have an "investigator" he is really one of my teachers, that we have to teach a lesson to everyday, and the lessons have to be in Spanish. Its really hard, but im starting to get a hang of talking about church things in Spanish, i still am not very good at talking everyday Spanish to the Latinos here :), but im working on it. My companion is from Orem Utah, his name is Elder Maynes, and we`ve gotten along pretty well. Sorry if there are any typos in here, this keyboard is really weird, the shift key is about the size of a tictac. So far with our "investigator" we have gotten to the third lesson, and its going
