An interesting week

Hey! (Yes, I am still alive) 🙂

This week was an interesting week, but it was a great week as well. With all of the excitement after the elections, and everything that is still going on, they grounded us for a few days. Then, on Tuesday, they let us out till 4, until 6 on wednesday, thursday until 7:30, and now it is normal. We read scriptures, watched church movies, drew on the table with shaving cream ( we were bored and out of ideas). Yes, we were very bored. But, this week they let us leave the house again and we were sooooooooooooooo ready to be working again.

This week we were able to have Pathricia's baptism and it was great! Her brother who was baptized 2 months ago was able to baptized her and there were lots of people who came to share their support. Her sisters came as well, and they are interested in learning about the Church.

We also were able to continue to teach Moises, and he is really interested in learning more about the gospel, he always has questions for us, and it is great.

The week was interesting because at night we almost constantly are hearing firecrackers and noise from a few parts here, but that is the most that has been happening. So, we are all good. We will see what happens this week because supposedly the president right now won, but they haven't declared him the winner yet, so it might get interesting.

I really liked what Hermano Lopez said at church yesterday, "Our political stance, or anything else like it, should not interfere with our journey to be more christlike, and it definitely should not interfere with our faith and our testimony."
Anyway, have a great week!

Pday!!!!

So Wednesdays will be my pday. The first week here has been awesome, and I am so excited to be here. In my district there are 10 of us. 8 Elders and 2 hermanas. Our leader, Elder Pututau comitted to play linebacker at Utah, and he is really cool. He is a huuuugee Tongan. For the most part our classes here are all in Spanish, but our teachers are super good. We have an "investigator" he is really one of my teachers, that we have to teach a lesson to everyday, and the lessons have to be in Spanish. Its really hard, but im starting to get a hang of talking about church things in Spanish, i still am not very good at talking everyday Spanish to the Latinos here :), but im working on it. My companion is from Orem Utah, his name is Elder Maynes, and we`ve gotten along pretty well. Sorry if there are any typos in here, this keyboard is really weird, the shift key is about the size of a tictac. So far with our "investigator" we have gotten to the third lesson, and its going

Heyo! This past week was really good. We were able to teach Jackelin and also Emili. It has been amazing to see the change that has happened in Jackelin's life. When we first found her, she was a little bit beat down by life. But, now she is so happy, and she has a hope for her life that she didn't have before. We are still teaching Jorge and Maria, and they are awesome. Jorge has a desire to change his life, he is just is a little scared that he will mess up and he doesn't want that. But, when we mess up there is always a chance to come back to the correct path. Through the Savior, Jesus Christ, we can truly change, even when we continue to mess up. We can continue to pick ourselves back up, and continue to do what we know is right. Also, this week was the hottest week I have had since being here. The fans have stopped helping, because all they do now is blow hot air on us, and it is worse than not having any fan at all. But, we are finding other ways to cool off.

Warm weather is back!

Hey everyone! So this week was super good. We were able to keep teaching Lesly and Leiny. It has been awesome to be able to see their progress in this time that we have been teaching them. We are excited to keep teaching them, and we hope that they will continue to learn more about the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  This past week we were running out of places to contact, because our area doesn't have very many contactable houses because of the gates on the streets, so we went to a poorer part of our area. It was super cool, because we were able to find people that were awesome and prepared to hear the Gospel. So we will see how that goes with all of them.  Elder Trujillo was kind of sick this past week so that wasn't very fun for everyone but, we are hoping the medicine he has now will help him out.  Every time that I teach the Restoration of the Gospel I feel the spirit, it is amazing. I know that the Church is true, and that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God. In my missi
